Ricky Martin and Angelo Garcia used to perform together in the boy band “Menudo”. During this time Ricky Martin taught Angelo how to swim. In Angelo Garcia’s own words:
“Strange fact but true …. Did you know Ricky Martin taught me how to swim? when I was Just 11 years old I was terrified of the deep end of the pool and Ricky let me ride on his back and eventually I lost my fear and he was able to teach me how to swim.
LOL”
In response to all the press his Facebook post has received by many news sources including The Advocate and La Tijera on Univision Angelo has added to the initial photo comments:
“When I found this photo it brought back memories that made me laugh at realizing how horrified I was that day being at the deep end of the swimming pool. About an hour after this photo was taken I had already almost completely overcome my fears of swimming and even dared to jump off the diving board alone.”
