Ricky Martin and Angelo Garcia used to perform together in the boy band “Menudo”. During this time Ricky Martin taught Angelo how to swim. In Angelo Garcia’s own words:
“Strange fact but true …. Did you know Ricky Martin taught me how to swim? when I was Just 11 years old I was terrified of the deep end of the pool and Ricky let me ride on his back and eventually I lost my fear and he was able to teach me how to swim.
LOL”

“When I found this photo it brought back memories that made me laugh at realizing how horrified I was that day being at the deep end of the swimming pool. About an hour after this photo was taken I had already almost completely overcome my fears of swimming and even dared to jump off the diving board alone.”

Angelo Garcia Supports the NOH8 Campaign at LA Pride Pride with his Boyfriend on June 12, 2010.
“On November 4, 2008 Proposition 8 passed in California, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The defeat provoked a groundswell of initiative within the GLBT community at a grassroots level, with many new political and protest organizations being formed in response.
The NOH8 Campaign (http://www.noh8campaign.com) is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska (http://www.bouska.net) and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8″ painted on one cheek in protest.
Nearly two years since its inception, the NOH8 Campaign has grown to over 4,500 faces and continues to grow at an exponential rate. The campaign began with portraits of everyday Californians from all walks of life and soon rose to include politicians, military personnel, newlyweds, law enforcement, artists, celebrities, and many more.
The NOH8 Campaign has received overwhelming support from around the world, appearing on various local and national news programs and publications. The images are currently being used on various social networking sites to spread the message of equality, predominantly Facebook and Twitter. Eventually the images are expected to be compiled for a large-scale media campaign.
Funds raised by the NOH8 Campaign will be used to continue promoting and raising awareness for Marriage Equality and anti-discrimination on a global level through an educational and interactive media campaign.” – www.noh8campaign.com
Angelo Garcia is still working as an independent artist and has paired up on a solo project with an amazing music producer Ahmed King who has done music for famous artists such as “Shakira”. Together they have created the beginnings of a fun, edgy, and catchy Electro pop sound that he feels is a signature sound that represents who he is as an artist.
This full album called “Scandalous” will have 14 songs all of which were written by Angelo Garcia. This new project is still in the process of being produced and currently there are two demo tracks that were rushed to the public (June 10th) in response to the press Angelo Garcia received over being an openly gay artist. Both these demos “Fallin 4 U” and “The Morning After” are now available on www.youtube.com/angelopopmusic to preview and will be soon be available on his new website.
What’s next? Well Angelo Garcia has decided to begin production on one of these individual demo tracks in his album as an independent artist through a unique style of funding that leverages the support of his fans called www.kickstarter.com. The fans will not only decide which single will be the first to be produced and released as a radio ready single but will also be receive perks in the process.
